ABOUT ME

I've had an extremely humbling career. Before launching a content marketing firm, I began my career in journalism. Since 2004, I did what every aspiring news journalist has to do to make it in the business. You start in the small market and work your way up. I somehow managed to climb from the 128th television market to the 9th largest television market in the country becoming a news anchor at the dominant, number one legacy station, WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. During my career, I have contributed reports to NBC News, MSNBC, CNN, Headline News, and FOX News Channel. I won an EMMY for Best News Anchor in the southeast, and I have been recognized by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters as the best on-air personality and anchor in the state.

My love for storytelling began when I was a child. I started documenting family events when I figured out how to work my dad's old video camera. I started my career in television when I was 19 years old by producing and hosting a public access show. Before joining the realm of hard news coverage, I worked for Entertainment Tonight in Los Angeles and produced a weekly entertainment show in Dallas, Texas where I interviewed many well-known actors and entertainers such as Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Meg Ryan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Snoop Dogg.

I began my professional career in Corpus Christi, Texas as an anchor and reporter for KZTV. During my tenure at KZTV, I developed a love for reporting major, breaking news stories. I covered the most active hurricane season in recorded history, in which several large storms, including Hurricane Katrina and Rita, had an enormous impact on Texas. My reporting in 2004 and 2005 helped catapult me to more than 70 markets to Fox Affiliate, KTBC TV, in Austin, Texas, the 49th television market. The station was only a block away from the Texas State Capitol where I frequently covered legislative sessions and became involved in political reporting. I was also recognized by the Associated Press with “Best Reporter” and “Best Feature News Story” awards.

In 2007, I moved to Orlando, Florida, the 19th largest television market, working for one of the most well-respected news stations in the country - WESH 2 News. I reported on numerous political rallies, interviewing almost all of the candidates, as they worked the I-4 corridor in the 2008 Presidential Election. I also reported live for MSNBC on several occasions while covering the Casey Anthony murder case.

In July, 2011 I joined WSB-TV as a weekend anchor in Atlanta, Georgia, the 9th largest television market at the time. WSB is one of the premier stations in the country and the first news operation in the South. Since joining WSB, I traveled throughout the state of Georgia covering crime, politics and severe weather.

When I am not working, I enjoy being home with my family in  Atlanta, Georgia. I am very fortunate to have a beautiful wife and two children. We love celebrating life's little milestones together. When we are not venturing out in our great city of Atlanta, we enjoy traveling locally or even internationally to learn more about other people and their cultures. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Africa a couple times, and I tell every one to please put it on your list. There's nothing in the world like it!

The Lucie Family Easter

The name Lucie means light, and my mission is to 'shine a light' or to help others share their own compelling stories that resonate with an audience. Founded by journalists, Lucie applies this experience to content creation, marketing, PR, brand strategy, and much more. It is from this unique perspective that the core of our strength as a firm originates. To learn more visit us at luciecontent.com

I also traveled back to Florida to cover the Trayvon Martin shooting and to Alabama for tornado coverage during this time. In 2013, I uncovered a foreclosure housing scam which sparked federal and local authorities to raid the office of the man behind it, and he is now facing 40+ years in prison. I was also the first and only reporter from Atlanta to arrive in Boston within hours of the Marathon Bombing. I am a native of Jacksonville, Florida and a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a major in Broadcast Journalism. I serve on the SMU Alumni Board. I have also studied in Madrid, Spain and minored in Spanish.

My family is a big part of what drives and motivates me and my business. They are my why. Why I decided to make a career change, why I decided to start a business and why I decided to write a children's book. My book, Hold You, is a story for young readers and their caregivers alike. It is about the relationship between the two. As a child starts to walk and talk they will typically say two familiar words: Hold You! (I know mine did!) These two words remind us all to stop what we are doing and to hold those we love the most...both young and old. Click the book to Pre-Order
